Vettel left fuming by Kvyat collision

A furious Sebastian Vettel launched an expletive-laden rant after being shunted out of Sunday's Russian Grand Prix by Daniil Kvyat.

Vettel and Kvyat had a public argument at the Chinese Grand Prix a fortnight ago, the four-time world champion distinctly unimpressed by an aggressive first-lap overtaking manouevre by the Red Bull youngster that led to contact between the two Ferraris.

Kvyat pleaded his innocence in Shanghai, but received a drive-through penalty on this occasion after making contact with the back of Vettel's car at two successive corners, the latter impact ending the German's race.

After hitting the wall on Sunday, Vettel shouted over team radio: "Oh, for f *** 's sake. Who the f ***?

"Somebody hit me in the f ****** rear at turn two and then somebody hit me in the f ****** rear again at turn three. Honestly, what the f *** are we doing here? "

Vettel offered a calmer assessment of the incident on his return to the pit lane, where he sought out Red Bull team principal Christian Horner - his former boss - for a discussion.

"These things happen obviously but it's harsh," Vettel told BBC Radio 5 live. "The race is very long; you can make progress on the first lap but you can also end your race.

"It was not my fault - there was nothing I would do differently.

"I do not dislike him [Kvyat]. I think he did a mistake two weeks ago and I think he did a mistake today."

Horner added: "Emotions run high in his home race. He's gone for too much too soon."
