    Bacsinszky too strong for Erakovic

Saturday's Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem final went true to form as top seed Timea Bacsinszky cruised to a straight-sets win over Marina Erakovic.

Top seed Bacsinszky came into the showdown in Rabat as clear favourite, ranked 15th in the world - 171 places above her opponent.

And Erakovic was no match for the Swiss, as Bacsinszky wrapped up a 6-2 6-1 success in a little over an hour.

The triumph marked Bacsinszky's fourth WTA crown, and her first on clay, while the unseeded Erakovic now has four defeats from the five Tour finals to her name.

Erakovic served first and was under pressure immediately as Bacsinszky broke and then held to love, before a pair of double-handed backhands - one down the line and one cross-court - sealed another break in game five.

Having served out with little fuss to take the first set, Bacsinszky carried that momentum into the second and a ruthless volley gave her another break for 2-1.

The writing was on the wall for Erakovic as she faltered again in her next service game, and Bacsinszky clinched victory in fitting fashion with a cross-court forehand return winner.
