    White Sox smash Blue Jays, Red Sox dominate Braves

    The Chicago White Sox restricted the prolific Toronto Blue Jays to just one run during their 10-1 win.

     


    Chris Sale allowed just four hits and struck out six while his opposite number R.A. Dickey allowed six runs over six innings.

    Edwin Encarnacion hit his third homer of the season but the White Sox picked up their fifth-straight win.

    The Boston Red Sox were similarly dominant in their 11-4 win over the Atlanta Braves, in which Travis Shaw hit a three-run homer in a four-run first inning.

    The Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees 10-1 with a five-run third inning setting the tone for the game.

    The Tampa Bay Rays improved to 10-10 against early pacesetters the Baltimore Orioles with a 3-1 win, while the Philadelphia Phillies edged a close encounter 4-3 in Washington against the Nationals.

    The New York Mets beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 courtesy of Yoenis Cespedes' first pinch-hit home run of his career to level the scores, before David Wright had the go-ahead RBI single.

    The Oakland Athletics smashed the Detroit Tigers 5-1, the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 for win number 15 of the season, while the Minnesota Twins edged the Cleveland Indians 6-5.

    The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Colorado Rockies 9-4, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2, the Miami Marlins got the better of the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 and the Seattle Mariners dominated the Houston Astros in an 11-1 win.

    Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 9-4, and the San Francisco Giants won 1-0 against the San Diego Padres.


    WHITE SOX SET SALE TO VICTORY

    White Sox ace Sale moved to 5-0 this season after tossing eight innings of one-run baseball in his side's 10-1 triumph over the Blue Jays.


    The Cubs' win over the Brewers means the Chicago outfit have improved to 15-5, which is their best start through 20 games since going 16-4 in 1907.

    Red Sox ace David Price tied a career-high 14 strikeouts against the Braves during their 11-4 win.


    WHITE SOX KEEN TO PILE MORE MISERY ON BLUE JAYS

    The White Sox made a statement by winning the first two games in this series in Toronto. Chicago's pitching staff is on fire right now and the line-up keep getting timely hits. The Blue Jays have been inconsistent, but their bats can beat a team any night.
