The Oakland Athletics smashed the Detroit Tigers 5-1, the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 for win number 15 of the season, while the Minnesota Twins edged the Cleveland Indians 6-5.
The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Colorado Rockies 9-4, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2, the Miami Marlins got the better of the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 and the Seattle Mariners dominated the Houston Astros in an 11-1 win.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 9-4, and the San Francisco Giants won 1-0 against the San Diego Padres.
