Manly Sea Eagles captain Jamie Lyon has announced he will retire from rugby league at the end of the 2016 NRL season.
The Sea Eagles skipper has played 284 NRL games, scoring 120 tries along the way to winning two premierships with Manly.
Before moving to the Sea Eagles, Lyon started his career with the Parramatta Eels, where he played 70 games.
Lyon, 34, made headlines early in his career when he abandoned his contract with the Eels in 2004 to return to his hometown of Wee Waa in the New South Wales country, before eventually moving to Super League club St Helens after rejecting offers from various NRL clubs.
He returned to Australia in 2007 when he joined Manly, where he has played since.
Lyon has gone on to represent the Sea Eagles 214 times, scoring 84 tries and playing in the club's 2008 and 2011 premierships.
He made eight appearances for Australia, while he represented New South Wales on 10 occasions.
The new season has been a mixed one for Lyon's Sea Eagles thus far.
They are 4-4 from eight games this season, and sit in eighth place in the NRL table ahead of a clash against reigning premiers the North Queensland Cowboys.
