Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kevin Kampl faces a long

time on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a broken leg, the

Bundesliga club said Monday.
Kampl suffered what was initially thought to be a torn calf in the

match with former club Borussia Dortmund on February 21 but a fresh

diagnosis was made as a scan in Cologne revealed a broken left
fibula.

 
The 25-year-old Slovenian international Kampl joined Leverkusen in

the Bundesliga winter break but is now unlikely to play again this
season.
